Semíraita — meaning "my people" in Nheengatú, the língua geral of the Amazon — is a bold vision made real: a school built by indigenous people, for indigenous people. Founded in 2008 on 114 hectares in Iranduba, just 30km from Manaus, Semíraita prepares young indigenous leaders to move confidently between their own world and the wider world, without losing who they are.
